MSNBC host Joy Reid asked how the robots can work when the user has to push a button.
“When you press ‘A’, the robot activates the automatic door,” Reid explained.
“That’s the thing with the robotic door is that when you press it, it opens the door.
It’s not like you press that button and then you have to wait for it to shut down.
It opens the room.
And that’s what you’re doing when you’re walking through the door.”
Reid then mentioned that the robot has a special motion detector that detects if a user is trying to open the door or close it.
The robot can then decide if the user is in the right place.
“It can’t open it if you’re trying to close it,” Reid said.
“But it can close it if it detects you’re in the wrong place.”
